Labor Day

Happy Labor Day!

It has been a tradition in my family, as for many other families, to go camping over this weekend. This is the first weekend that I can EVER remember that I haven't been able to go camping at all! It's such a bummer! We always enjoy the weekend with fishing, music, campfires, stories and lots of laughter :) So to start this post off, I'd like to give a shout out to the Habel/Nelson/Moore/Bexten clan! Know that I'm thinking of all of you today and wish that I was with you! Thanks to all of you for all of the support over the years!

To relieve the stress of school, I've been running quite a bit around the city. My flat is about a mile away from this really nice park called Regents Park. It's absolutely gorgeous and huge, so there are lots of opportunities for running :) Yesterday I was running through it and I saw a man with three chocolate labs, which reminded me of Emmy and home a lot. I really wanted to go hug one of the dogs, but I knew I wouldn't be able to stop myself from bawling. Haha I could barely keep a handle on myself just seeing them! Anyway, I think I'm going to keep track of my running miles on here just so everyone can see how I'm doing! So up to this point I've run 19 miles! I didn't even realize until now that it had been that many! Its just a great thing to do when I've got a lot on my mind :)

Yesterday I got to talk to my cousin, Katy, on FaceTime! It was so so great to see her and talk to her :) She is such a sensible person and went through many of the same things that I am going through, so she is very easy to relate with. We're very similar people in general, so she's definitely one of my favorites to talk to when I'm having a tough time. :) Love you Kater!

One of the things that has really made London really feel like home is the other freshman in this program, Jasmine (my RA), Cynthia and her family, and specifically last night when we all got together to eat some pizza and watch Harry Potter. Cynthia was kind enough to open up her flat to all of us and feed us! It was so great to all be sitting together, quoting the lines of a movie we all know oh so well :)

I'll be back later with more of my Excellent Adventures! :)
