We just got back from Stonehenge and Bath today!! They were such fun
places :) I definitely liked Stonehenge the most, maybe because I'd been there
before and it brings back great memories of my last trip! Also, it was really
cold and reminded me of chilly fall afternoons in Kalispell. It’s really an
amazing place. Definitely one of my favorite places I’ve ever visited.
After Stonehenge we were driving to our next stop when the tour guide said “Has anyone ever seen The Lion in Winter?” This caught my attention pretty quickly because the last play I participated in was The Lion in Winter! I played Queen Eleanor along with another fabulous young lady. Eleanor was one of my favorite characters I’ve ever had the pleasure to be. Anyway, the reason the tour guide brought up the play was because we were on our way to Old Sarum, which was one of the places that King Henry II lived. It was also one of the places where the entire Lion in Winter crew, King Henry, Queen Eleanor, Richard, Geoffrey and John, met up for Christmas. It was really incredible to be in the same place as this famous family, one that brings back a lot of memories. Quick shout out to everyone else in this play- Tanner, Annika, Zach, Lukas, Bryce, Angie and Jackie :) You guys would have loved it!
We went to Salisbury next which was a really cute town. There were so many beautiful houses that I wanted to live in! They had gardens in front of them with a rainbow of flowers and ivy that covered the entire building. I needed Mel with me to admire all of the places we can live in our alternate lives :) For lunch in Salisbury we ate the classic fish and chips… and I’m pretty sure that I never want to eat fried anything ever again. It was good, but afterwards we all felt pretty terrible, so that might be my only fish and chips encounter on this trip.
Now I'm in Manchester with Jeff, Jourine and Jay, and I'm having a great time. It's so nice to be in a place that feels just like home :) They are such welcoming people and I can't imagine surviving this semester without them. Thanks to them for what I know will be a wonderful weekend!
